Sport and aggressive behavior, Do sports create aggressive behavior, or simply attract people who are already aggressive? Aggression and sport have gone together as long as sports have been around, be it the players themselves, to the parents, coaches, or spectators, they just seem to be an inseparable part of each other. Intimidation usually does not cause physical harm, but often is designed to produce psychological consequences, enabling one person to physically over power or dominate another. These statements as defined by the author, Jay J. Coakley, is what people today have made a must part on sport. Pleasure and participation sports absolutely cannot be grouped with power and performance sports when in relation to aggression.  Pleasure sports are simply played for pleasure. Score is usually not kept. The athletes participating are usually on occasion doing it for fun and exercise. A majority of athletes who have been playing sports since they were little, have probably been pounded into their heads that to be successful in sport, you need to be aggressive, and at some times, unnecessary. Also that to get what you want, you have to go at it with all force. Not that this is wrong but, this attitude in today's society has been a major problem factor to the athletes when they get older, to get into trouble with the law. Those long-term effects of so-called discipline, patterns develop these destructive behaviors. (9. Montague) Although some people are still in belief that aggressive behaviors in all forms are grounded into instincts, but they also relate these actions to sports. Their parents played, who were known for their aggressive behavior, so the child feels that they have to live up to that expectation.( 6. Storr) Athletes do have to be aggressive to a point, so that the team can form a strategy to win. There is also a limit to aggression when it turns into violence. People might say that it's not aggression or violence, its just adrenaline pumping. Adrenaline isn't even similar to violence. Aggression, maybe, but nothing that would be harmful to anyone else. This might be a factor to why contact sports are so popular. For example, football, hockey, rugby, wrestling, and boxing. Contrary to predictions of instinct theory, several studies show that contact sports exist and thrive in the same societies that have high rates of aggression and violence. Unfortunately, another belief is that contact sports teach discipline, self-respect, and self-defense. (8. May) Contact sports aren't a positive way to teach these things. Being physically tough helps, but it also needs to be left on the field when the game is over. This can also lead to the abuse of family, girlfriends, boyfriends, friends, and any other person who gets in their "way", because athletes use these sports as a way to get their aggression and angers out. ( 10. Hauser, Powers, Noam) Other's might argue that it's skill, and not in the least way violent. Although we really can't give a straight and to the point answer to the question "Is aggression an Instinct?" We can say that in man, as in other animals, there exists a physiological mechanism, when stimulated; it raises both subjective feelings of anger and to physical changes, which relate to fighting. This is easily set off, and like other emotional responses, it is very stereotyped, and instinctive. BEHAVIOUR.

It may be unlikely that many people will  benefit from these notes.  It will probably go in one ear
and out the other,  and they will go on in much the same way as before.  One may have too many other
things to do; can't be bothered; fail to understand it; find it boring, or one may fail to see any importance in
it. (SAD).  This is so typical of human beings in action. But there will be exceptions who can perceive that
the conceptions of the mind will expand if the will to seek wisdom is cultivated; and by the use of practice,
the application of self controlled expression will consequently become more and more effective.
At times, we may all feel annoyed by the frustrating fact that humans are so reluctant to absorb
new concepts or to extend their present ones.  How people already express, seems to be their dominating
feature, and their static mental status disallows them from thinking or expressing any differently.
What we were conditioned to be as children, will predominate in our expressions as adults.  This is
the bone of contention that should attract our most intense contemplation.
The adverse side and the shortcomings of humans are usually the most obvious and observed
features that we see in each other, but we are somewhat reluctant to see many if any adverse traits or
failings in ourselves.  How we see others is an external observation, but how we see ourselves is only
speculation based on what we think we are.
 Our minds seem to support and defend our own reasoning and actions.
Most of the subject matter in these notes delve into the adverse or negative side of human
behaviour, so highlighting the aspects that we should become aware of.  From this, some people may derive
an insight that may lead them towards a better understanding of human behaviour, and how to develop the
wisdom to direct their own.  It is the control of our own behaviour within the influences around us that
determines the outcome.  We should not try to control others in an attempt to determine an end, but to learn
to control ourselves, and to do this regardless of the intrinsic obstacles and any brain conditioning to the
contrary that may impede us.
Most people react from some inner compulsion; this may be partly due to the conditioned state of
our conceptions, and partly from inherent genetic traits.
Generally, people do know how to conduct themselves, but they are seldom able to apply what
they know; this results from the fact that the mind becomes occupied by the situations of the moment, and
what we know about self control becomes buried or swamped, and is not at this time available to the
awareness, therefore it can not be used when it is needed, so resulting in inappropriate expression.
Ironically, if our expressions are challenged, then we may instantly defend ourselves or self-justify
and develop bad attitudes.  There seems to be no avenue  from which this peculiar trait can be modified.  
Most of us just go on going on.  We remain somewhat benighted, (hold on to outworn traditions, views,
ideas and principles), but few of us do anything about it.
The text herein is an endeavour to awaken the awareness of young people and also adults to the
powers of the mind, and to outline the benefits that this may have on the quality of life within the home and
